Conduct Manual Tasks Safely
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to recognise potentially hazardous manual tasks, and then to prepare for and complete those tasks in a safe manner.
Target Audience:
This unit applies to all workers involved in manual handling tasks.
Course Contents:
  • Identify manual tasks involving risks
  • Prepare for manual tasks
  • Complete manual tasks
  • Contribute to safe work practices
Course Duration
This course requires about 4 hours of training, including practical emergency scenarios and classroom assessment.

Recommended Recertification:
It is recommended that those trained in HLTWHS005 renew their qualifications every 2 years in line with industry standards, or more often as operationally required.
