HLTAID001
Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to perform CPR in line with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. The unit applies to anyone who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of home, community or work settings.
IN AN EMERGENCY, EVERY MINUTE COUNTS. DON'T PANIC. BE PREPARED.
Target Audience:
EVERYONE should know how to do CPR.
Course Contents:
- DRSABCD Action Plan
- Manage the Unconscious Patient
- Choking
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Course Duration
The CPR course requires about 3 - 4 hours training and classroom assessment. If you are undertaking a refresher you must provide evidence of your CPR currency, or you will need to sit the full course.
Course Competencies Awarded:
Certificate of AttainmentHLTAID001 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Recommended Recertification:
Under the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, it is recommended that those trained in CPR (HLTAID001) renew their skills every 12 months, in order for the units of competency in this course to remain current.
