Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card)
This course - known as the White Card course - is mandatory for anyone who wants to work in the construction industry. You must demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others.
Target Audience:
This unit applies to anyone who is to work in the construction industry.
Course Contents:
- Identify health and safety legislative requirements of construction work
- Idenitify construction hazards and risk control measures
- Identify health and safety communication and reporting processes
- Identify incident and emergency response procedures
Identification Requirements and Course Duration
In addition to your USI and standard enrolment, Workplace Health and Safety Queensland has specified Identification requirements that must be presented prior to the training. We must sight and copy the identification (except bank cards). Click this link for ID REQUIREMENTS
This course requires approx 5-6 hours of training, including practical, written and verbal assessment.

A White Card is signed, laminated and issued at the conclusion of your training, subject to all competencies and Identification requirements being met.

Recommended Recertification:
It is recommended that those trained in CPCWHS1001 maintain their safe work practices in line with industry standards. This certification does not need to be updated regularly, however if you lose your certificate and card, you will need to re-do the course to obtain a new one.
If you lose your card but still have your certificate, or can get in touch with the issuing RTO, you can replace your card. Talk to us if you need help with this.
